چکیده
n-ith the aid of an electronic computer, case studirs of n-ind malyses at the 85O-and ZOO-mb. pressure levels have beet1 made. The divergent and non-divcrgetlt wind cornpotleuts resulting from the and v wind-component analyses are investigated. For thfs caws considered, the streamfunction fields are slightly superior to the Joint Numerical Weather Prediction opcxrational fields, obtained initially through use of the "balance equation." The magnitude of the horizontal wind divrrgcitlcr values are comparable to those obt'ained from the winds by previous investigators employirlg hat~d-at~nlysis techrliques. However, the divergrrlce patterns are not sufficiently accurate for the strict requirements necc:ssar>-for nutnt>rical weather forecasting.

Experimental and numerical study of natural ventilation in four-sided wind tower traps
In the past, wind towers were applied as the main architectural part of building construction in the desert areas of Iran. These almost high structures were used as cooling load suppliers at residential buildings. In the present study, the effect of symmetric four-sided wind tower in flow induction to the bottom space has been analysed by using a wind tunnel and numerical simulations. In the nu...

Studies of sand saltation are currently concentrating on wind tunnel experiments, theoretical analyses and numerical simulations under ideal as well as controllable conditions. These theoretical analyses and numerical simulations cannot accurately predict sand movements in field environments. In this paper, we simulate wind field patterns for two different surfaces of complex microtopography us...

Impact Assessment of a Doppler Wind Lidar in Space on Atmospheric Analyses and Numerical Weather Prediction
Wind profiles from space would help to fill in data sparse areas over the oceans, the tropics, and the southern hemisphere. ESA has conducted a phase A study for the Earth Explorer Atmospheric Dynamics Mission (ADM). A polar satellite with a Doppler Wind Lidar (DWL) on board is proposed for this mission and which is described in this session by Ingmann. The DWL measures wind profiles in the tro...
متن کاملSensitivity Analysis of Meteorological Parameters in Runoff Modelling Using SWAT (Case Study: Kasillian Watershed)
Determination of river runoff is essential in design and construction of most hydraulic structures including dams. In rivers with no measurement stations, the hydraulic models can be used for data estimation. SWAT is one of the most widely-used numerical models. In this model, input influential meteorological data as precipitation, temperature, wind speed, solar radiation and relative humidity...
